Decorating Your Home for Christmas

Procrastinating digging out those Christmas boxes to start decorating? Want to creatively decorate your home but don’t know what to do to make your home have that festive feeling everyone strives for? Do you want more Christmas-decorating inspiration? Don’t worry, below are four easy ways to decorate your home just in time for Santa to make his appearance!

Wreath Décor

Displaying a wreath is a classic décor piece for the holidays. Wreaths come in many different shapes, sizes and styles. If you want to go the DIY route, make an ornament wreath. All you need is one Styrofoam circle, a hot glue gun and an ample amount of ornaments depending on the Styrofoam circle size. Use this wreath to dangle above your fireplace for a festive holiday look. Another wreath option is to hang two smaller wreaths on your door. This will give your door an appealing look from the top down.

Spice up the Fire Place

If you have a fireplace in your home, don’t let it go bare this holiday season. Add some “Christmas spice” to draw your guests to cozy up by the fire. Add candles, decorative garland or pictures to the top of your fireplace for extra Christmas cheer. In addition to the top of your fireplace, dangle candy canes or hang homemade gingerbread garland to add a Christmas-y scent to your fireplace décor.

Festive Banister

Don’t let your banister go without Christmas cheer this holiday season. Add traditional green pine garland to give it a classic look. Also, be sure to dangle old Christmas photos and cards along the banister to add a personal touch to your Christmas décor. Dangle ornaments along with your photos and cards to incorporate a pop of color and keep the festivities going.

Your holiday table display isn’t complete without a Christmas-inspired centerpiece. One way to create a festive centerpiece is by using a tiny Christmas tree, whether it be real or fake. Decorate it however you like and place it on top of a cake display platter. Another Christmas centerpiece idea is to create a DIY candy cane vase. To do this, find or buy a vase, glue candy canes to the outside of it, tie a bow to keep the candy canes secure, and add flowers. You’ll have a perfect holiday centerpiece with two special treats: flowers and candy.
